If they appoint today/tomorrow then Id say they have had a fair idea from the start who they want/will get. Maybe only pursued one or two other options

I reckon Neil had enough support at boardroom level for various reasons, and it was a case of - lets see who is available out of x, y, or z. A brief chat with them then Lenny it is I reckon.

We should have spoken to Avram Grant. I hope we assertained how much Hughes would cost and then if he was seriously interested (rather than just 'interested' in the media). Also touch base with a few previous interests (we have looked for managers 3 times in the past 4 seasons) Billic ect.

I wouldnt consider Lambert unless he or his agent contacted the club showing interest after he publicly made such a strong case against wanting the job
